In today's evergrowing digital world, animations (stories, kinetic text, and animated explainers) are the most effective way to convey your message (artistic or professional) in a fun, creative, and concise way, combining illustrations, music, sound effects, and motion to wholly captivate your audience. Media oversaturation and dwindling attention spans make it harder and harder to get your ideas across, but with a well crafted, beautiful, and smart animation you can cut through the chatter and effectively share your passions with the rest of the world.
Creating an animation from scratch may be easier than you think. Whether you have a story in mind or want to create an animated explainer for your personal or company website, I break the process down into six steps, so you know what's being created along the way. If you already have a script or illustrations you'd like to have animated, we can easily add those ideas and images to the process to better enhance your intended vision.
First, we develop a story, something we can use as the backbone for the animation as a whole. Whether it's a narration or a dialogue between the animated characters, a solid script will help us determine what elements we need later on. After you're happy with the script, I would then break down the storyline into a storyboard. The storyboard would consist of frames, containing doodles, clip art, or google images to better represent where things will be situated within the screen. We'd then turn those image representations into the actual illustrations I would animate later on, either drawn by yours truly, or collected and purchased off of vector/image websites online if you had a specific style in mind. Recording the voiceover provides the actual file in which the animation would be built around. The voiceover could be you, me, a friend, or we can hire the talent online. Once we've done that, you can leave it up to me to turn the concept into a movie. Once you are satisfied with your animation, we then publish it through Vimeo or YouTube, or convert to flash if you want to stream directly from your website.
